Castro do Zambujal

The initiative was from the Leonel Trindade Museum, mark the international day of monuments and sites, under the guidance of arch. André Baptista and introduction by Sofia Máximo, whom I thank. Today we were in one of the most important and enigmatic national monuments of the west, in the area of Lisbon, dating from the beginning of the Bronze Age, third millennium a.c.
The day was fabulous, and even the dozens of small insects jumping to the block seemed to be bubbling with curiosity. The area still hides vast secrets and the terrain, as well as being crossed by several hiking routes, has beautiful landscapes and fabulous locations for picnics, resting or exploring.
In a first sketch, with some calmness, I attacked the most visible part of the old fortification; in a second moment, where time was lost in the conversation, I was drawing less rigorously the heap of stones lost in the vegetation.
